@shinnemesis I need to know how vehicle dlcs are set up, please someone explain to me and I will gladly make it :)
@JDeezNutz The 'instructions' tell you what to do with your intended content for a dlc pack. Not 'how to install the mod' which is what I'm asking. Does the 'mod' go into the main directory or into a scripts folder?
@iammistahwolf You don't install the mod... skylumz has created a simple program that does all the hard work. drop files from the file file in to a folder and run the .exe.
@JDeezNutz 'The file file?' Not sure what that means. Typo? Anyway, I tried running the exe and it said, 'this program may depend on other elements....' Nothing happened. So I figured there must be some path to install it other than in the usual game directory or script folder. So specifically, after downloading the mod 'where does the executable file go so the program can be run?'
@iammistahwolf Yes, a typo. I do not get this problem, I extracted all the files from the zip folder in to a folder ony my desktop. Then proceeded to run the .exe which opened up a interface where I could either set up a map or vehicle dlc setup.
I just created a test dlc literally 2 minutes ago to make sure skylumz's mod works, and it does.
You are doing something wrong.
@JDeezNutz "You are doing something wrong."
That's obvious otherwise I wouldn't have asked. So what threw me off from your initial explanation, you cleared up in the second. Which btw was not in the mod's instructions. I just tried that and what happened last time was I tried to open the exe from the original file. This time the exe worked. It took a minute, but thanks.
@iammistahwolf Glad everything worked for you- as a rule of thumb .exe files never go into the gta dir, only compatible files like .ydr's .ytf's .meta's etc etc, spend an evening looking inside OpenIV - you will see all the formats the game accepts, also helps with general understanding to different types of mods.
Skylumz has created excellent scripts that has help aid many modders; most if not all Skylumz's scripts are a third party program i.e independent use of an .exe program.
@JDeezNutz Yes, I thought it was weird as the 'pattern' for the majority of mods is to be inserted either in the main directory or the scripts folder or into the game via OIV. Well, now the 'fun' part begins with forays into creating dlc's.
is there a way to do this to add animations to the dlc?
good tool.
Program works great, but for some reason the DLCPacks created by it are not being read by the game properly (Content doesn't load), DLCList paths are inserted and correct so that's not the issue. I've compared other Mods DLC's and they dont seem any different, not sure why this happens, if anyone else experienced this could help out it would be highly appreciated.
Hey I want to make a Car replace DLC Pack. The Car Files are in the verhicles.rpf but thes dont replace the original Cars? What do i do wrong Can somebody help me?
Great software. Is there any way to make dlcpacks for clothing ?
any chance someone can help me out everytime i install this it doesnt load properly in game not sure what im doing wrong the textures arent loading properly they also effect the surrounding area thank you
hey could you update with a weapons option?
does not work with vehicles
I follow everything but some of the maps don't work like when I put it in and go to the location its just an empty void
amazing tool. Thanks you very much sir 😁
what do i do with .ydd files?
be careful with the line code created in "DlsList Item" text box.
its back-slash("\") which should be forward-slash("/"), so make sure to change it
I am converting a 'Replace' vehicle into a DLC. how do i generate the .meta files, or where do i pull them from?
