The default San Andreas license plates in GTAV are based on the standard issue California plates from the past sixty years. LorePlates is a collection of additional license plates from the same timespan, for the three other fictional states in the GTA Universe: Liberty, Alderney, and North Yankton. (based on New York, New Jersey, and North Dakota respectively). Each plate in this pack is a painstaking recreation of a real-life counterpart, combined with a conscious effort to emulate Rockstar's satire. If Liberty, Alderney, and North Yankton were fully accessible in GTAV, then LorePlates is an estimation of the kind of plates Rockstar would make for these regions.

REQUIREMENTS

You will need OpenIV and a trainer to use this mod.

Simple Trainer can be found at: gta5-mods.com/scripts/simple-trainer-for-gtav

INSTALLATION
========================================
1) Start up OpenIV.
2) Go to Tools --> Package Installer, and select one of the two .oiv installers.
- Standard Res will install plates with 256x128 pixel resolution, matching the ones from the vanilla game.
- HD will install plates with 1024x512 pixel resolution. It also updates the original 6 plates to HD versions.
- if you want to try the other version, just run the other installer and it will overwrite the previous files.
- IF YOU HAVE OTHER LICENSE PLATE MODS INSTALLED: use the manual installation (in the aptly named 'manual installation' folder)
3) Start up GTA5 and enjoy! Use your trainer to change your vehicle's license plates to the new ones.

I have included clean versions of the rusty plates in this pack. If you prefer the look of the clean plates, just drag all of the images from the manual installation/(HD or SD version)/extras/no rust folder included in this download, into the vehshare.ytd (location listed below), click "Ok," and save.
I have also included textures for a more accurate 80's San Andreas plate, which more-closely resembles the 1982 California plate than the default one that Rockstar made. To replace the default one, just drag plate04.png and plate04-n.png from the extras/SA accurate 80s plate folder into your vehshare.ytd, click "Ok," and save.

I can't stop you, but I will shake my head at you disapprovingly. People don't want to pay money to play games. Especially not in these trying times.

@A_mbien_t hey I'm getting around to doing this now. Which Cj24 pack are you talking about? Because the one I'm looking at only has 512x textures. I can do either size, but I want to double check first before I get started.

Beautiful. Would you please consider making rusty versions of the older SA plates? They would fit more appropriately on beater cars like the rusted variants of the Emperor, Tornado, Rat Loader, etc.

@DuKe4Gaming @MustangMemeboi the new GTA Online DLC changed the installation path for license plates, so I've just sent in an updated version that installs the mod in the correct location.
Until the update is approved by the mods, you can use the manual installation, except use the vehicles.rpf in dlcpacks/patch2023_02 instead of dlcpacks/patch2023_01.

How can I use the plates on my addon cars?
Is it just me or are the license plate textures just not appearing in Simple Trainer?
Is it just me or are the license plate textures just not appearing in Simple Trainer? For example, the license plate text is moved around when trying to select the extra plates however the plate itself stays at the stock in-game North Yankton plate
